New academic year, here we come!

Phew we have been busy! Asal won a prize for her presentation at Edinburgh’s Joseph Black conference and then attended the Gordon conference in sunny Barcelona, Marco won three poster prizes at SCOTCHEM, Joseph Black conference, and Scottish Computational Symposium, Ryan and Matteo presented the group’s work on machine learning and Markov State Modelling in Shanghai, Josh showcased his work on modelling protein ensembles using SAXS data in Boston and Sheffield and released Carbonara into the wild, and Alexandros joined us as the group’s first PhD student in Informatics.

The new academic year starts with new people joining the group:

  • Callum Bates joins us as a BioAid PhD student, and will work on engineering functional post-translational modifications
  • Ziyi Xu joins with a Chinese Government Scholarship to shed some light onto the dark proteome
  • Naeim Moafinejad joins as visiting PDRA from the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, to see how molearn fares against RNA conformational dynamics.

Welcome all!
